Hi, I’m Susie.
I’m a Nurse, a Mom, and a Nonni.
I’ve been a Nurse for 38 years, a Mom for 31 years, and a Nonni for 2 very joyful years.
It’s been a life full of adventure, happiness, heartbreak, laughter, tears, and everything in between. The kind of life that teaches you a lot… sometimes gently, sometimes the hard way.
Caring for people has always been at the center of who I am. I’ve spent decades showing up for others, holding hands during the hardest moments, and being the calm in the chaos. Nursing didn’t just become my career, it became part of my identity.
But life has a way of evolving.
Somewhere along the journey, I realized that taking care of everyone else can quietly turn into forgetting to take care of yourself. And this season of my life is about changing that balance.
O’Groovy is my space to share real-life reflections, lessons learned, humor, and encouragement for anyone who feels like they’ve spent most of their life being “the strong one.” It’s about growth, boundaries, perspective, and finding joy in the middle of it all.
I believe in kindness, honesty, laughter, and learning as we go. I believe it’s never too late to reset, reinvent, or choose yourself. And I believe life is better when we approach it with curiosity, compassion, and maybe a little color.
